“The Mission of the Federation is (i) to provide an organization through which Member Agencies may work together to better assure the protection of the public through good communication about licensure, practice, regulatory activity and professional disciplinary action in the practice of acupuncture and oriental medicine and (ii) to promote the delivery of quality healthcare to the public by the profession of acupuncture and oriental medicine.”
“Member Agency” is an Agency located in the United States which is a Member of the Federation. Agency means any body authorized by law to examine, license, certify, register or discipline practitioners of all aspects of acupuncture and oriental medicine, regardless of the name of such body.
“Delegate” means a Member of, or administrator of, a Member Agency who is designated by the Member Agency to be its representative at meetings of the Delegate Assembly. A Delegate shall serve at the pleasure of the Member Agency. Each Member Agency shall send notification of its Delegate selection to the President of the Federation. An Alternate Delegate means the member of, or administrator of a Member Agency chosen by the Member Agency to be its representative at meetings of the Delegate Assembly and perform the duties of the Member Agency’s Delegate in the event that the Delegate does not attend the meeting.
Annual Dues shall be established by the Board and approved by the Delegate Assembly for all classes of Members except that Honorary Members will pay no dues. Annual Dues may from time to time be changed by the Board, subject to ratification of the change by majority vote of the Member Agencies. Annual Dues shall be delinquent if not paid by January 15 of each year, unless postponed by the Board. The Board shall establish Annual Dues at a level necessary to carry out the Objectives of the Federation. After establishment and approval of the initial Annual Dues, any increase in Annual Dues shall become effective eighteen (18) months after approval of the increase by majority vote of the Member Agencies. The Board in its discretion may waive the Annual Dues or a portion of the Annual Dues for extenuating circumstances. All dues shall be paid in U.S. currency or equivalent on or before January 15 of each year.
For a Member Agency, Annual Dues shall be $1,000.00. However, for those regulatory agencies that are not able to afford the full $1,000 membership dues, the FAOMRA Bylaws state, “the Board of Directors may waive the annual dues or a portion of the annual dues for extenuating circumstances.” If your regulatory agency is not able to pay the full dues, please send a written explanation of the extenuating circumstances and a statement of the amount the regulatory agency is able to pay for dues.
