History
FAOMRA was created after two years of conversations with representatives of acupuncture and oriental medicine regulatory agencies and interested parties from within our profession. It was born from the concept that there needed to be an organization that represented those agencies that licensed and regulated the practice of oriental medicine. Our formal date of inception was April 27th, 1999
Mission
The mission of the Federation shall be to provide an organization through which member agencies may work together to better assure the protection of the public through good communication about licensure, practice, regulatory activity and professional disciplinary action and to promote the delivery of quality healthcare to the public.
Membership
Although FAOMRA has established annual dues at $1,000 for member agencies, the Federation believes that your representation and input are our most important resource. Therefore our bylaws state that "the Board of Directors may waive the annual dues or a portion of the annual dues for extenuating circumstances". If your regulatory agency is not able to pay the full dues, simply send us a written explanation of the circumstances and a statement of the amount that your regulatory agency is able to pay along with the application for membership. Our Goal is "Participation at any Price".
